Local company Freaker USA enjoyed a strong surge in exposure Thursday morning when featured on the nationally televised TV show Good Morning America. Freaker USA manufactures one-size-fits-all knit drink insulators in a variety of colorful styles. The company was created in 2011 thanks to a Kickstarter campaign and has grown by at least 100 percent each year since, said Freaker USA CEO Zach Crain.

Thursday morning, as part of Good Morning America’s Deals and Steals segment, Freaker USA was highlighted as an up-and-coming new company providing an exciting new product for a variety of demographics.

Crain said the company has experienced an increase both in web traffic and sales orders as a result of the promotion. Freaker USA received 17,999 sales orders as a result of the telecast, and has also seen an increase of about 24,000 people visiting the company’s website.

Said Crain of the national exposure, “It was nice to get more people aware of the products we are making and see the positive depiction of a local company based in Wilmington.”
