Edible Arrangements now joins the list of Galleria tenants relocating its base to another shopping center.

Ken Ruginis, owner and operator of the Wilmington retailer, said Friday afternoon that his 7-year-old business would move into 1,200 square feet formally occupied by Wilmington-based Luna Pops at the Landfall Center on Military Cutoff Drive.

Nicholas Silivanch, broker with Team Silivanch of Coldwell Banker Commercial Sun Coast Partners, represented Edible Arrangements during the long-term lease transaction. Mike Brown, broker with Wilmington-based Cape Fear Commercial, represented the landlord – Landfall Center.

Edible Arrangements specializes in customized fruit bouquets that come in various sizes and can be dipped in chocolate. 

Ruginis said he hopes to move into his new space by September or October, pending a retrofitting of the space that might require him to upfit his new space with a grease trap.

While the Galleria’s owner – Atlanta-based Equity One – wants retailers to vacate the shopping center by mid-August, Ruginis said a provision in his lease allows him to stay at the shopping center for an extra 180 days.

This is the third Galleria tenant to announce relocation plans.

Another tenant, Crest Fitness, recently signed a lease to move into 5,582 square feet of retail space formally occupied by Blockbuster at the Lumina Commons Shopping Center, 1930 Eastwood Road.

Home Again, a fine consignments store of upscale new and gently used furnishings and home décor, also inked a long-term lease agreement with The Forum to occupy 7,500 square feet in the upscale shopping center. Lumina Gems, a jewelry consignment, repair and design shop would also move into Home Again’s new space.
