With an opening planned for early 2024, owners Todd and Cathy Natale plan to bring the Nautical Bowls franchise to Pier 33 in downtown Wilmington.

Started by a young family with four small children outside of Minneapolis, Nautical Bowls was born out of a desire to share a passion for a healthy, active lifestyle that could lead to happier, fuller lives for anyone willing to give it a try.

“The Nautical Bowls brand was built on fueling your whole life,” Todd Natale said. “From superfood bowls to an uplifting, energizing atmosphere, our brand’s mission continues to be rooted in providing a full meal and full-of-energy experience for everyone who enters our four walls. We combine healthy, fresh superfood bowls with an uplifting atmosphere to fuel a healthy and active lifestyle.”

A healthy diet is essential for healthy well-being, according to Todd Natale.

“We will always provide our guests with ingredients that will fuel you right, to feel right,” he said. “We know it's difficult to find a quick meal without compromising a healthy lifestyle, so we strive to achieve this by helping our guests find superfood fuel for each day. That’s why our bowls are filled with powerful antioxidants and essential vitamins and nutrients. By utilizing high-quality ingredients, we are able to build bowls that are delicious and nutritious.”

The bowls available at Nautical Bowls are plant-based as well as gluten, soy and dairy-free.

“Made with organic or all-natural ingredients and packed with essential vitamins and nutrients to fuel your life,” Todd Natale said. “Originally, Nautical Bowls had 10 signature bowls, but the brand has recently expanded the menu by introducing two more … a warm oatmeal bowl and a protein bowl. Also, a new concept is the ‘store special’ where each location has a bowl re-named dedicated to the area of the store location. Look for the ‘Port City Bowl’ at the Pier 33 location.”

Some menu favorites include the Big Island Bowl with ingredients that include acai, mango, coconut, granola and strawberries; the Oatmeal Bowl with granola, coconut sorbet, peanut butter, blueberries and cinnamon; and the Anchor Bowl with acai, granola, banana, coconut flakes and cashew cacao butter.

Customers also have the option to create their own bowls with sizes referred to as "Dinghy," 10 ounces, "Cruizer," 16 ounces, and "Yacht," 24 ounces. Todd’s personal favorite is the “Sail Bowl” which includes acai, pitaya, peanut butter, cacao chia, banana, strawberries, cacao nibs and coconut butter crumbles.

The company has more than 50 locations nationwide. For more information, including menu options, locations and catering options, visit nauticalbowls.com.
