Local restaurant Rx Restaurant and Bar served customers for the last time Saturday before temporarily closing its doors.

Rx Restaurant and Bar, which specializes in locally sourced and seasonal cuisine, will close for a few months to “complete some kitchen renovations that will prepare us for our next chapter,” the restaurant wrote on its Facebook page in a Feb. 26 post.

The restaurant wrote it can’t wait to share more news in the coming weeks and months and thanked customers for supporting the local farmers and fishermen that provide Rx with fresh produce and meats.

“We’re truly grateful for and humbled by all the kindness and support so many of you have shown us over the past decade,” the post states.

Co-owner Sarah Doss said the restaurant isn't yet ready to share additional information.

Rx expects to reopen by late spring or early summer, according to its website. The estimated length of the closure is just a guess, Doss said. The restaurant will continue to take care of its full-time staff that depends on Rx for their income in the interim, the restaurant wrote in a social media comment.

Last May, Rx opened after a months-long closure to unveil a new open-air dining space, designed with the pandemic in mind.
