Restaurateur Tammy Tilghman’s newest venture, Girls with Dough Pizzeria & Pub, is now open on Arcadian Row in the Riverlights community.

This is Tilghman’s second restaurant in Riverlights. The first – Magnolia Social Café – is a close walk across the lawn.

“I love creating environments that people enjoy spending time with loved ones,” Tilghman said.

While the Magnolia Social café, which opened in 2017, offers breakfast, lunch and baked goods, the Girls with Dough menu features crowd favorites including pizza and pasta, as well as charcuterie and salads.

Chef Kevin Vermilyea created a menu that offers a wide variety of starters, salads and specialty pizzas. Fresh ingredients and classic Italian recipes are at the center of each dish.

“My favorite menu items are Mozzarella en Carozza and the marinara pizza,” Tilghman said.

Specialty pizzas include the Diavola with cherry peppers, mozzarella, hot pepper, oil and basil, as well as the Ms. Figgy with fig jam, caramelized onion, gorgonzola, prosciutto and balsamic reduction. Margherita, pepperoni and cheese pizzas are also available. Gluten-free cauliflower crusts are offered as well.

Pasta selections include bolognese, alfredo and spaghetti and meatballs. Desserts complete the meal with choices of New York cheesecake, molten chocolate cake and cannoli, as well as apple tart and ice cream.

The 3,100-square-foot space offers seating for 80 people under warm pendant lights and exposed wood beams.

A seating area with couches and a television is available for those who just want to enjoy each other’s company.

“I wanted a very relaxed and cozy atmosphere that people would enjoy along by the river,” Tilghman said.

Girls with Dough is open Tuesday-Friday 4 p.m.-10 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
