Fentoni’s Pizzeria To Replace Frank’s At The Carolina Beach Boardwalk

By Jessica Maurer, posted Mar 11, 2020
Pleasure Island residents Jen and Jeremy Fenton are bringing pizza back to the boardwalk at Carolina Beach, replacing Frank’s Pizza at 9 Carolina Beach Ave. N. with their eatery, Fentoni’s Pizzeria.

Fentoni's will feature two sizes of pizza, as well as pizza by the slice, fresh grab-n-go salads, hot subs and appetizers.

“We’re super excited to be on the Boardwalk,” Jen Fenton said. “The nearby businesses and the Carolina Beach community have been incredibly welcoming.”

Jeremy Fenton worked in pizzerias on Long Island for many years before beginning his career in restaurant equipment installation, and has long dreamed of owning his own pizzeria.

When offered the opportunity to purchase the business from Frank’s owner Charles Haskins, he said he jumped at the opportunity. Haskins still owns and operates the Frank’s location in Leland, but Fentoni’s will not have any affiliation with Frank’s going forward.

Jen Fenton said the space has undergone an overhaul, including the installation of new kitchen equipment and a completely remodeled dining room with new furniture. The white, green and red have been replaced by neutral greys and canvas prints of black and white photos from Little Italy in New York City. The Fentons have also installed a long bar with high bar stools to create some additional seating.

As for the menu, the dough and sauce will be homemade, and the Fentons plan to use high-quality ingredients such as buffalo mozzarella. While beer will not be immediately available, the Fentons do plan on applying for a license that will allow them to eventually serve a few beers on tap.

The Fentons are proud to welcome general manager Steve Wilkins, who brings more than 18 years of pizzeria experience to Fentoni’s. Owners were also quick to state that they already have plans for future locations.

Fentoni’s is expected to open later this month and its hours are anticipated to be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with possible extended hours during the summer season. On-island delivery will be available.
