Bill’s Front Porch Pub & Brewery Announces Restructuring

By Jessica Maurer, posted Mar 4, 2020
Bill’s Front Porch Pub & Brewery owners announced via Facebook on Tuesday that they have closed the doors to the pub and are restructuring that segment of the business.

“We made this decision based on multiple factors,” owners stated in the post. “One reason is due to the opening of our production facility and continuing to shift our focus to the beer side of the business. We also took a hit with the road construction that took place on Market Street. During the 3 ½ years we were open, two of those years our customers had to work really hard to get into our parking lot to come eat with us, which over time took its toll.

"Lastly, we made this decision because we want to spend time with our family, especially with our newest addition who is now 3 months old and growing quickly. Time is precious and being able to condense one part of the business will allow us to enjoy watching our child grow.”

Co-founder Brooks Musser announced last July that the restaurant was scaling back its menu in anticipation of the conversion from a full-scale restaurant to a taproom, emphasizing the fact that beer has always been the main focus.

Current plans call for the space to convert to a fulltime taproom and event venue, under the new name of Bill’s Brewing Co. Taproom.

The taproom will offer Bill’s Brewing Co.’s full lineup of beer, and guests can order food from neighboring Capt’n Bill’s, (also owned by the Musser family), including Bill’s famous fried chicken, tater tot skillets, the Pub-Fil-a and other favorites from the original Bill’s Front Porch menu. Guests of the taproom also have the option of bringing in their own food from wherever they choose.

The new taproom hours will be Tuesday-Thursday from 4-9 p.m., Friday from 4-10 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Owners say the taproom will be available as a private event space and they plan host special events including beer dinners with local vendors, pop-up food nights, and other special events.

The grand opening of Bill’s Brewing Co. Taproom is scheduled to be held on St. Patrick’s Day, which is Tuesday, March 17, at 4238 Market St.
