Having opened in late 2019, the Tipsy Goat Bottles and Taps, 1930 Castle Hayne Rd., Suite 120,  is gaining a steady following, according to owner Anthony Heath.

Heath’s passion for craft beer lead him to the idea of opening his own taproom and bottleshop along with his wife, Barbara. A resident of Rocky Point, Anthony Heath felt this fast developing stretch of Castle Hayne Road in the Wrightsboro area was in need of a place like the Tipsy Goat.

“We’ve had a pretty solid response so far,” said Anthony Heath. “More and more people seem to find us each week.”

The Tipsy Goat offers 12 rotating beers on tap and the owners select local, regional, national and international brews to feature, offering a range from lighter style pilsners and lagers to sours, IPAs and heavier stouts and porters.

The establishment offers between 300 and 400 beers and ciders available by the can or bottle and includes a carefully curated selection of wine at a variety of price points – but Anthony Heath said about 85 percent are under $20.

He said he also has a crowler machine that allows him to fill 32 oz. cans. of anything on draft.

The taproom features a 12-seat bar, several tables and a lounge area with games such as ring toss, darts and pinball, and guests can enjoy trivia Wednesday nights at 7 p.m.

While the Tipsy Goat does not serve food, Heath hopes to bring in local food trucks from time to time.

The Tipsy Goat Bottles and Taps is open Monday through Thursday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m.
