While Germany’s annual Oktoberfest has passed, celebrations continue throughout the Port City this weekend.
Wilmington’s 19th annual Oktoberfest event will be held Saturday at the Ogden Tap Room, 7324 Market St.
Authentic German beers & brats will be served and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to relax and enjoy live music from the Harbor Townfest Band.
As always there will be bouncy houses for the kids and the ever-popular Wiener Dog races. The fun begins at 11 a.m.
Wrightsville Beach Brewery will celebrate the season with their annual nod to both Oktoberfest and oyster season – Oystoberfest, taking place on the brewery grounds Saturday from noon to 8 p.m.
The family-friendly event includes an oyster roast with raw and steamed oysters, as well as German favorites such as brats and jumbo pretzels. WB Brewery’s full lineup of fall beers will be on tap, including Oysterman Stout, Piping Plover Pilsner and Waterway IPA, the brewery’s October 11% partner. Eleven percent of the proceeds from the sale of Waterway IPA throughout the month of October will be donated to this month’s charitable partner, the Good Sheperd Center.
Live musical performances in the beer garden include The Beau Rikkis from 1-4 p.m. and The Caroliners from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Shirts and souvenir mugs will be on hand.
