Two eateries plan to open their doors at The Pointe at Barclay in time for Memorial Day weekend: Far from France and Duck Donuts.

Alban and Josephine Pelletier will welcome customers Thursday to Far From France, a combination French café, bakery and gourmet grocery store.

Josephine Pelletier, a pastry chef who trained at the Ferrandi Culinary School in Paris, will bake baguettes, specialty breads, croissants, tarts and brioche daily. Alban Pelletier has imported a wide range of specialty products from his native France, including chocolates, sweet and savory condiments, spices, oils and vinegars.

Coffee, espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, tea and hot chocolate will be served, and café style seating will be available on the patio.

The store's website will also soon offer customers the opportunity to purchase items online.

Far From France will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at 1474 Barclay Pointe Blvd., Suite 204.

Cass Doran, general manger of Duck Donuts at Mayfaire, said the company will open a second Wilmington location at the Pointe at Barclay, under the same ownership and management.

Duck Donuts specializes in made-to-order doughnuts, which customers can top with a variety of icings and confections.

Doran said doors should open Friday, and the store hours are still being determined.

Duck Donuts is located at 6801 Parker Farm Drive in Mayfaire and at 1611 Dusty Miller Lane in The Pointe at Barclay.
