Tropical Smoothie Café owners Deena and Brandon Korman opened a second Wilmington location in the Bayshore Commons shopping center in Porters Neck in early May. The new location will host a grand opening this Saturday.

There are special offers each day this week leading up to the event, and prizes, raffles and free tastings will take place throughout the day on Saturday.

“We’re really happy to be a part of the Porters Neck community,” Brandon Korman said. “There’s so much development taking place here, and we’re really excited about working with other businesses, schools and organizations in the area.”

The new space features Tropical Smoothie Café’s most recent design and layout with an open kitchen, a small community table and seating at the smoothie bar. There is indoor seating for 50, with about 12 additional seats on the patio.

Brandon Korman said he welcomes groups to use the space for meetings, and catering is available.

Summer menu features include Thai chicken wraps and salads and a chipotle chicken club.

Tropical Smoothie Café has also launched a new app that combines a loyalty program with online ordering and the ability to pay directly from a smartphone. Every download of the app comes with a $5 coupon.

The first location is at 2804 S. College Road in the Long Leaf Mall and now at 130 Hays Lane, Unit 130 in Bayshore Commons off of Market Street.
