It’s been over a decade since the last Bartender’s Ball took place in the Port City. Now, thanks to local service industry leaders Joe Apkarian and Ben Shaw, the ball returns this month to the Coastline Conference and Event Center.

“It’s an event that most cities with a thriving service industry host each year. We figured it would be a great way to bring both the service industry and the general population together," Apkarian said about the event scheduled for Sept. 27. "It’s as much about networking as it is a social event.”

Apkarian, owner of The Pour House, says the only time customers spend with bartenders or servers is when they’re being waited on. The ball offers them all chance to mingle as well as to try food and beverages from establishments they’ve never visited.

Over 20 local bars and restaurants will be serving signature cocktails and nibbles. Anheuser Busch and Goose Island Beer Company products will also be on hand.

The event will feature two DJs, a bachelor/bachelorette auction, games and giveaways. Proceeds benefit the Rape Crisis Center of Coastal Horizons Center Inc.

Ticket prices are $50 in advance, $60 at the door. VIP tickets are $75 in advance and $85 the day of the event. VIP tickets are available online only. Click here for full details.
