Eclectic American dining, craft beer, and live music is what’s in store for diners when Johnny Luke’s opens its doors later this year.

Owners John Jackson, Nick Parrous and Luke Burke are veteran restaurateurs with more than 70 years of combined experience in the industry. Jackson and Burke have both worked for Outback Steakhouse for over twenty years and Parrous’ family owns Luigi’s Italian Restaurant and Bar, a fixture in the Fayetteville dining scene since the 1980s.

Terry Espy, president of MoMentum Companies Inc., represented both parties in the lease agreement for the two-story property at 5500 Market Street. Renovations are set to begin soon.

Espy says that the partners plan for the downstairs to have an upscale atmosphere, serving mid-priced entrees prepared with locally sourced ingredients. The upstairs, JL’s Loft, will have more of a pub-type atmosphere, serving burgers, sandwiches and appetizers. The upstairs space will also feature an 1,100 square-foot balcony.

Espy says that in an area of town dominated by corporately owned restaurants, Johnny Luke’s owners hope to create a local vibe, a place where customers know and recognize them when they come in the door.

“John, Nick and Luke know the importance of building relationships with customers,” said Espy. “They want to provide locals and visitors with a restaurant that’s unique to the area.”

An early December opening is anticipated.
