The Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce will hold its 19th annual Pleasure Island Chowder Cook-Off this Saturday at the Carolina Beach Lake.

This year’s participants include three former contestants: Havana’s Fresh Island Restaurant, Gibby’s Dock & Dine and Sea Witch Café & Tiki Bar, as well as four new contestants: Saint’s Cove Beach Bar & Grill, Shelby Jeans on the Boardwalk, The Shack at Dockside and Two Kousins Sports Bar.

Havana’s and Gibby’s Dock & Dine took home the People’s Choice and Judges' Choice awards for the 2014 competition.

Tickets include a chowder sample from each of the participating restaurants and the chance to cast your vote for the best entry. Admission to the festival is $6 for adults; children 12 and under are free.

The event will feature a Kidz Zone with face painting, a giant inflatable slide and laser tag as well as live music by the Mark Roberts Band. Gates open at 11:30 a.m., and the winners will be announced around 5:30 p.m. Chowder is served on a first-come, first-served basis.
