The Cape Fear Literacy Council will host its second annual 12 Tastes of Christmas event on Friday at the Brooklyn Arts Center. The event will feature 12 food and drink pairings, music by Chill Bill and entertainment by Dead Crow Comedy, all in the spirit of the season.

Participating vendors include Caprice Bistro, Costello’s, Canape, Chops Deli, Delish NC, Duck & Dive, Flytrap Brewing, Front St. Brewery, Goat & Compass, Greenline Pizza, Soulful Twist, The Blind Elephant, The Olive Cafe & Wine Bar and Wilmington Brewing Company.

Proceeds from the event will benefit adult literacy programs in the Cape Fear area.

“The 12 Tastes of Christmas event is a great way for the Wilmington community to come together over the best parts of the holiday season – food and spirits, dancing and revelry, enjoying a festive night out with friends – all in the name of celebrating the achievements of CFLC’s 550-plus adult learners and the impact they have on Wilmington through their journey to literacy,” said CFLC community outreach and volunteer management coordinator Erin Payne.

Specialty cocktails on the menu include a Mistletoe Mojito with gin, raspberries, fresh mint leaves, simple syrup and seltzer from Costello’s; a pecan pie martini from Delish NC and a Winter Painkiller with rum, toasted coconut, cream of coconut, chestnut caprice mix, Tiki bitters and nutmeg from Caprice Bistro.
