The third annual Taste of Wrightsville Beach took place Oct. 11. Chef Brent Poteat of 22 North swept both the Judges' Award and the People’s Choice Award with a seared pork belly over smoky local greens with sweet potato grits and Vidalia onion jam.

Sweet & Savory, a first-time participant, was also recognized in both categories, placing third in the Judges' Award category and second in People’s Choice for its autumn squash bisque, BBQ duck confit and sea salt and caramel brownies with bacon.

The second place Judges' Award went to The Oceanic and the third place People’s Choice Award went to Ceviche’s.

Participating restaurants were South Beach Grill, Banks Channel Pub & Grille, King Neptune, 22 North, Oceans at Holiday Inn Resort, Mellow Mushroom, Roberts Grocery, Bluewater Grill, The Oceanic, Bridgetender/Fish House, SurfBerry, Cerviche's, Sweet and Savory and Martino's Fine Italian Foods.

Local breweries Kind Beers and Ironclad Brewery also took part.

A portion of the proceeds from this year's Taste of Wrightsville Beach will go towards the Wrightsville Beach beautification projects and the Weekend Meals on Wheels program.
