Steve Lambros has been serving food to Wilmingtonians since 1991. His company, Diamond Food Enterprises, offers a full line of catering and food service management services.

Lambros and his staff have often operated behind the scenes, providing meals for the employees at companies such as Corning and Progress Energy, as well as students at Cape Fear Community College and Cape Fear Academy.

But now, with the launch of a new operations facility at 727 S. College Road, suite 44, Lambros aims to grow his company's catering capabilities and become a key player in the private event catering market. Diamond Food Enterprises will continue to provide long-term food service management on a contract basis, he said.

The goals of the business are three-fold, said Lambros: “To provide private event catering as well as food service management for both corporate and educational facilities.”

Lambros, who earned a degree in hotel and restaurant management at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and a master's in marketing and management from Marshall University, is completing work on his new facility and is planning to open in August. Phase one of the new facility will be to get the kitchen up and running; phase two will be to complete a client meeting area where Lambros and his staff can meet with clients to plan events.

“Food is our passion," Lambros said. “Our mission at Diamond Food Enterprises is to provide our services and food with heart. Our focus is on freshness, affordability and customer satisfaction. Our goal is to complement and exceed the vision of our clients.”
