The new rendition of Rock-Ola Café opened its doors in Wilmington on Jan. 16.
Kickback Jack’s, according to Kevin Giever, GM of the Wilmington restaurant, offers “fresh American fare in a top of the line sports entertainment setting.” Its menu has a wide variety of choices from salads and stone heart pizzas to burgers and chicken wings.
The redesigned chain, owned by Battleground Restaurant Group in Greensboro, premiered in Raleigh in October 2009.
Giever said that the business has been wildly successful.
Kickback Jack’s is located at 418 South College Road.
Pine Valley Market to open museum café
Pine Valley Market has partnered with the Cameron Art Museum to open a new café in the museum.
Johnnie’s Café, named after Dr. Johnnie Sexton, a local supporter of businesses and art in Wilmington, will offer upscale Southern food in addition to a kid-friendly menu, said Christi Ferretti, co-owner and chef of Pine Valley Market. The café will have seating for 48 to 50 people and additional outside space may be added at a later date. Ferretti is a supporter of the Cameron and likes the new direction of the art museum.
Johnnie’s Café is set to open at the end of March and will be open Tuesday thru Saturday for lunch and Sunday for brunch.
Courts & Sports volleys for biz
Courts and Sports is a new sports bar and grill set to open in Wilmington in March. In addition to a standard American menu, the restaurant will feature eight volleyball courts, eight cornhole courts and bocce ball courts open to recreational, youth and competitive leagues. The facility will house 25 televisions, an oversize inside bar and an outside Tiki bar.
Rob Migliosi, the volleyball director of Courts and Sports, says that there is plenty of volleyball to go around for both Courts and Sports and Capt’n Bills Backyard Grill. Until now, Capt’n Bills has had no competition from similar concept restaurants. The restaurant kicks off its grand opening on March 17 at 3525 Lancelot Lane.
