Toconis is Downtown Top Producer

Broker Todd Toconis of Town and Country Real Estate was recognized in December by Wilmington Downtown Inc. as the Wilmington Downtown Top Producer of 2014, according to a news release. The award, which recognizes the real estate broker who completed the most transactions in downtown during the year, was announced last month at an event hosted by the Wilmington Regional Association of Realtors.

Toconis had seven transactions representing a total value of $2,433,500, the release stated. For the purposes of this award, downtown is defined as the area bounded by the Cape Fear River, Wooster Street, Nixon Street and 16th Street. This is the second year that WDI and WRAR have collaborated on the award.
 
Patrice and Ken Willetts now at Property Shop

Patrice Willetts has joined The Property Shop of the Carolinas, effective Dec. 22, according to an announcement from the firm. Willetts, who has more than 25 years of experience in real estate, will be a broker/Realtor as well as serving as Property Shop’s recruitment and training manager.

Willets formerly was the broker-in-charge with Coastal Properties, a news release stated. She was the 2013 president of the N.C. Association of Realtors, the 2000 president of the Wilmington Regional Association of Realtors, and currently sits on WRAR’s board of directors, according to the release. She also chairs the Wilmington Board of Adjustment.

Ken Willetts has also joined the firm as a broker, the release stated.

The Property Shop of the Carolinas is a full-service real estate and appraisal firm that serves Pender, New Hanover and Brunswick county markets.

CAMS adds new community manager in Brunswick

Wilmington-based Community Association Management Services (CAMS) company, with offices throughout southeastern North Carolina, welcomed Lisa Marie Rockwood to its team of community association managers in Brunswick County. Rockwood will be the on-site community manager at Winding River, according to a news release from CAMS.

Rockwood has ten years of experience in the community management industry and has been a portfolio manager for the past three years in the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area, managing condominium, townhouse and single family communities, the release stated.  During that time, she has earned her Certified Manager of Community Associations and Association Management Specialist designations and is working towards her Professional Community Association Manager certification, the release stated.

"We are pleased to have Lisa Marie join our team in Brunswick County," said Mike Stonestreet, oo-owner of CAMS. "With her attention to detail, numerous years in community management and positive attitude, we are certain Winding River will benefit greatly from having her as part of their community.”
 
Two Century 21 agents earn company-wide sales awards

Two Century 21 Sweyer & Associates agents have been recognized nationally for their sales records in 2014.

Bobbi Bell, a Realtor with the Wilmington office earned the Century 21 System’s Centurion Producer Award for closed sales.

“This is Bobbi’s third year in a row earning the Centurion Award. We are extremely proud of her accomplishments!” Jeff Sweyer, broker/owner of Century 21 Sweyer & Associates, said in a news release.

Regina Drury, also a Wilmington office-based Realtor, earned the system’s Double Centurion Producer Award for closed sales, a designation that “puts her in the top 1 percent of all Century 21 agents in the world,” based on gross closed commissions and units, the release stated.

This is Drury’s third such honor, Sweyer said in the release.

Area agents become trained negotiators
 
Fifty-eight area real estate agents recently completed a two-day training seminar leading to the Certified Negotiation Expert (CNE) designation from the Real Estate Negotiation Institute, according to a news release from Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage. The Wilmington Regional Association of Realtors (WRAR) offered the institute's course.

Agents who receive this certification are among the top agents in the country in negotiation skills, Tom Hayman, trainer for the CNE seminar, as well as the CEO and co-founder of RENI, said in the release.

Of those enrolled in the CNE course, 67 percent were Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage agents, Tim Milam, the firm’s president, said in the release, adding that, with professional negotiation skills, agents are able to help clients obtain better results in the sale or purchase of their home.
