Sales have begun in a new community off Castle Hayne Road that's expected to include 230 homes when complete.

Bill Clark Homes has built four model homes in Hanover Lakes at 2013 Castle Hayne Road, according to a release from the 40-year-old company founded in Greenville.

The company has sold seven homes in pre-sales, and 10 inventory homes are under construction.

“Families comment to us all the time that the neighborhood is in a perfect, central location,” said Robin Campbell, director of sales and marketing for Bill Clark Homes, in a news release.  “Coupled with the price point and floorplan options, Hanover Lakes offers everything growing families are searching for in the area.”

The craftsman-style homes in two styles, Lakeside Cottages and the larger Lakeside Estates, start from the low $200’s and are situated around a 14-acre lake, with amenities that include a waterfront dock and gazebo, community sidewalks, an outdoor lap-size pool with a sun deck, water slide and multiple water features, an open air pool cabana and a lakeside picnic and grilling area.

Bill Clark Homes plans to celebrate the grand opening of the neighborhood from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 1 with tours of model homes and other activities. Middle of the Island will be catering the event, which is also expected to include a bounce house for children and an appearance by the Wells Fargo Stagecoach horses.

Wilmington's healthy housing market has continued to thrive in recent months, hitting an historic high in January with a 41 percent increase in home sales and continuing to see growth in February with a near 4 percent rise in the number of units sold.
