Logan Developers Proposes New Gordon Road Neighborhood

By Cece Nunn, posted Mar 24, 2015
A proposed neighborhood near the 4800 block of Gordon Road in Wilmington is the latest community in the works by the development arm of a Belville-based home builder.

Logan Developers Inc., development division of Logan Homes, wants to build a 70-lot single-family residential subdivision called Clearwater Preserve on the north side of the 4800 block of Gordon Road, according to site plans submitted by Paramounte Engineering Inc. to New Hanover County.

The lots are planned on 21.24 acres, with 3.6 acres set aside for open space, site plans show.

The plans are scheduled to be considered by the county’s Technical Review Committee at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Room 601 at the county government center, 230 Government Center Drive, Wilmington.

Clearwater Preserve is in its preliminary stages, and currently, Logan Homes considers one of its main projects to be Helms Port, a 159-lot gated community underway off Masonboro Loop Road in Wilmington, said Dustin Jones, marketing coordinator for Logan Homes.

Some of Helms Port amenities are expected to be open by this summer, with a grand opening for the community planned in May, Jones said. The planned amenities include a clubhouse, pool, private beach on the Intracoastal Waterway and a 75-slip marina.

At least 40 of the lots in Helms Port were under contract as of Tuesday, Jones said.

Logan Developers Inc. also has been working on Cottage Grove, a 24-lot subdivision near the 200 block of Middle Sound Loop Road, for which the county TRC approved site plans in August.
