Wilmington axe-throwing business Axes and Allies has new owners.

Local couple Bill and Lauren Symanski purchased the business, 1122 S. Third St., from longtime owner Mia Troy earlier this week, according to a news release from real estate and business brokerage firm Momentum Companies.

“Mia did an incredible job creating and growing the business,” Bill and Lauren Symanski stated in the release. “We’re excited to continue what she started and look forward to building on the strong community that already surrounds Axes and Allies.”

Troy opened Axes and Allies in 2018 in a building that formerly housed Red Barn Studio. The business includes multiple throwing lanes, a bar that serves craft beers and wine and a cabin-themed lounge.

“This business has been such a rewarding part of my life,” Troy wrote in the release. “I’m so thankful for the amazing customers, employees and community that have supported us. I know Bill and Lauren will take Axes and Allies to the next level.”

Momentum Companies facilitated the sale, with broker Kirk Walsh representing Troy in the transaction.

Axes and Allies will continue operations at its current location, according to the release, and the Symanskis plan to “enhance the experience while preserving the unique atmosphere that has made the venue a favorite for group outings, parties and corporate events.”
