Publix Grocery Store In Ogden To Open Nov. 29

By Cece Nunn, posted Nov 2, 2017
The Publix supermarket chain has announced the opening date of its second Wilmington store.

The Publix at 7144 Market St. in Wilmington "will welcome customers and continue passing on the Publix spirit at its grand opening" scheduled for 7 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, said Kimberly Reynolds, media and community relations manager for the Charlotte Division of Publix, in an email Thursday afternoon.

The store is the more than 45,000-square-foot anchor tenant of Ogden Market Place, a retail center at Middle Sound Loop Road and Market Street that has 32,000 square feet of additional space.

Marketing materials for Ogden Market Place developer Halpern Enterprises Inc. show a Moe's Southwest Grill, Smoothie King and Pizza Hut as other tenants on a site plan.

Wilmington's first Publix supermarket, at 716 Bragg Drive off South College Road, held its grand opening in August last year.

Publix is one of several companies that have been bringing grocery stores to the Wilmington area for the first time, a group that includes grocery store chains Lidl and Aldi.
