Site Plans Reveal Details Of RiverLights Marina Village

By Cece Nunn, posted Apr 13, 2015
An art gallery, restaurants, townhomes, offices and more than 3,900 square feet of retail space are proposed for one component of a 1,400-acre master planned community on River Road.

Site plans for RiverLights Marina Village show a 7,722-square-foot art gallery, two nearly 5,000-square-foot restaurant spaces, 10 townhomes and 12 live/work units, in addition to the retail space, according to documents submitted to the city of Wilmington.

The commercial and residential portions of the Marina Village surround a large village green, where RiverLights plans to hold events such as concerts. The village design also shows a 2,028-square-foot River House.

McKim & Creed submitted the Marina Village site plans for Newland Communities, developer of RiverLights at 4410 River Road. The plans are expected to be considered during the city Technical Review Committee’s meeting April 23.

The Marina Village encompasses a little more than 8 acres, site plans show. Plans for the village green and two waterfront parks around the Marina Village were expected to be submitted separately to the city by landscape architects, according to the site plans.

Newland Communities is planning a grand opening celebration for summer 2016 to kick off RiverLights.
