Growing SBA Loan Company Plans Move To Midtown

By Cece Nunn, posted Feb 2, 2015
A company that specializes in Small Business Administration loans is moving from Lumina Station to a midtown office with more than double the space.

Marc Gilson, regional manager of GBC Business Capital, said Monday that the company plans to move at the end of March from a 900-square-foot office to a 2,000-square-foot location at 2601 Iron Gate Drive.

“We have outgrown our space here,” said Gilson of the company’s office in Lumina Station, where its address is 1908 Eastwood Road, Suite 322.

The firm, whose parent company is Georgia Banking Co., has four employees now and is planning to hire more, Gilson said.

With the GBC Business Capital lease, the office building at 2601 Iron Gate Drive is nearly full, with one space available on the second floor, said Hill Rogers, broker in charge with Cameron Management, the company in charge of leasing the property.

Gilson said GBC Business Capital has closed $11 million in SBA 7(a) loans already in 2015, $8 million in 2014.

“We’re definitely trending the right way,” Gilson said.

A recent client was Linprint Co., a business founded in 1947 in Wilmington that provides printing and other services, at 3405 Market St., Gilson said.
