A local children’s clothing store, national mattress chain and a chiropractic clinic are joining the lineup at Mayfaire Community Center. One is opening; the other two are under construction.

Called “The Joint . . .the chiropractic place,” the clinic is scheduled to hold a grand opening starting at 10 a.m. Saturday at its new Wilmington location in the center, Suite 130 at 6801 Parker Farm Drive.

Sleepy’s, a mattress retailer with stores in at least 48 states, will occupy 3,500 square feet next to a new PetSmart in space currently under construction at the community center. The new store’s address will be Suite 160, 6800 Parker Farm Drive.

Lily Nicole & Co., a children’s clothing business started by local residents Valerie Smith and her husband, Andy Voland, is also expected to open in the space under construction, Suite 100 at 6800 Parker Farm Drive, across from Roko Italian Cuisine.

Smith and Voland started the business, named after their daughter, about three years ago by selling online at first, Smith said. Next, Lilly Nicole & Co. placed its products, which include natural fiber and eco-friendly clothing, accessories and other items for babies and children, in vendor space at Blue Moon Gift Shops.

Smith said the Mayfaire store will allow the company to carry a wider variety of products and interact with shoppers.

“The No. 1 thing is we wanted to have customer care and customer experience,” Smith said.

Broker F. Spruill Thompson, senior vice president of Cape Fear Commercial, represented Lily Nicole & Co. in the transaction.

Smith said the store will hire four employees.

Sue Rice, director of operations for Mayfaire, said the stores are expected to open in the new space at Mayfaire Community Center around the middle of this year.
