A former mobile home sales center is being turned into a new storage unit facility.
Suzanne O’Bryant, sales and marketing director for Penton Development, said Thursday the construction crews with the Wilmington-based firm were completing site work on the 2.41-arce parcel for the new units.
O’Bryant said the facility, 5307 Oleander Drive, was slated to house about 200 climate controlled units upon its completion.
This is the firm’s first storage unit development.
Penton Development, which specializes in commercial development, also built the Saltworks II office development near the Oleander and Greenville Loop Road intersection. It also constructed its office headquarter at 6105 Oleander Drive.
“There are not very many climate-controlled units on this side of Oleander, so we’re hoping that it will fill a niche,” O’Bryant said.
Officials are targeting a mid- to late-summer opening.
