ServPro Buys Warehouse For Expansion

By Alison Lee Satake, posted Oct 28, 2011

The local franchise owner of residential fire and water clean-up company, ServPro, has purchased an industrial warehouse that will increase its storage capacity by more than double.

“It’s an example of a small local business that happens to be growing and able to take advantage of the current real estate climate. We thought we got a good deal on the building,” said Hill Rogers, the broker with Cameron Management, who represented the buyer and negotiated the purchase price.

The property sold in the mid-$400,000 range, which is about 20 or 30 percent lower than it would have sold for in 2006, Rogers said.

The buyer and franchise owner, Thompson Restoration Company, currently leases a 4,000-square-foot space on Darlington Avenue. It purchased a 10,000-square-foot industrial warehouse at 6606 Windmill Way in July. It currently is up-fitting the building and will move in before the end of the year, said Davis Thompson, owner of Thompson Restoration Company.

The previous owner of the property was Donald Hamilton, who owns local flooring supply and carpet binding company, PreFloor Distributors. That company has relocated to 6727 Amsterdam Way.
