One of the region's largest residential real estate firms has expanded its reach again.

Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage in mid-July opened a new, 2,000-square-foot office at 10020 Beach Drive SW in Calabash in southern Brunswick County, according to a news release Monday.

The new office brings to 13 the number of Sea Coast Advantage offices in Southeastern North Carolina.

The Calabash office is the third new office that Sea Coast Advantage has opened this year. In March, Sea Coast opened a new location at 2516 Independence Blvd. in Barclay Commons in Wilmington, and in June, the firm opened a new, 18,000-square-foot-office in Dungannon Village at Autumn Hall in Wilmington.

The news release said Jennifer Brown is the managing broker of the new Calabash office, which has 11 Sea Coast Advantage agents and one full-time administrator. Brown is also the managing broker for the firm’s Holden Beach and Shallotte offices.

“We have an ideal location on Route 179 in Calabash and we are right next to the busiest intersection in town,” said Brown in the release. “This is a very high-traffic area and we anticipate a lot of walk-ins, which is unusual in these days of online marketing. But the Calabash market is different. Buyers and sellers here want to work with someone local and they want to interact directly with their agent. Most of our agents live here and are within five minutes of the office. And most are already doing business here, so the Calabash office was a natural expansion for us.”

Nine of the 11 agents at the Calabash office relocated from Sea Coast Advantage’s Shallotte office, according to the release. Two are longtime residents of Calabash but new to Sea Coast Advantage. Prior to opening the Calabash office, Shallotte was the southernmost location for Sea Coast Advantage.

The news release said the new Calabash office extends the firm's reach to the South Carolina border, as the town’s southwest border is the South Carolina line.

“The market in Brunswick County is very strong and we are excited to have a bigger presence in Calabash,” said Tim Milam, president of Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage, in the release. “The office has great visibility and it’s very convenient for both our agents and our clients. It also bridges the gap between our Shallotte office and our partner firm, Coldwell Banker Chicora Advantage, which has six locations in the Myrtle Beach area.”

In March, Coldwell Banker Chicora, which has been in the Myrtle Beach real estate market for 45 years, announced its merger with the network that includes Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage.
