WRAR Installs New Board Tonight Under Union Jack

By Alison Lee Satake, posted Jan 7, 2011

In honor of incoming Wilmington Regional Association of Realtors board president, Karen Parkin, who is originally from Essex, England, the association will host a British-themed installation banquet tonight.

At the “British Invasion” banquet, the 2011 officers and directors will be installed. Parkin moved to Wilmington in 1994 from South Africa. She co-owns property management company Wilmington’s Best Rentals with business partner Bob McWaters, president of Coastal Properties.

Her message to the WRAR membership is: “Everybody just needs to keep a positive outlook.”

WRAR board president-elect and MLS president will be Intracoastal Realty’s Ashley B. Garner. Vice president of the WRAR board of directors will be Century 21 Sweyer and Associate’s R.J. “Alex” Alexoudis. RCASENC president will be Commonweath Commercial Properties’ Amy Spicuzza. And the past president is Network Real Estate’s Mary Martin.

Serving on the board of directors for 2011 will be Sandra Beals, Carlos Braxton, Jody Wainio, Louise Voelker, Faye Brock, Thomas Gale, Mary Jo Miller, David Eggleston Jr., Amy Holcomb and John Pierson. WRAR Executive Vice President is Jerry Panz.
