Developers Bring Sales Centers Downtown

By Staff Reports | Archives
Front and center: Brunswick Forest has become the latest suburban developer to open a downtown sales center to take advantage of the high tourist foot traffic.

Brunswick Forest has become the latest in a series of suburban developments to take advantage of downtown’s high foot traffic to open a sales center.

Brunswick Forest’s 112 Market Street office is its second sales center. It has had a sales center on site near the main entrance to Brunswick Forest off U.S. 17 in Brunswick County.

“Location, location, location,” said Jerry Helms, director of sales at Brunswick Forest in a press release.  “Every year hundreds of thousands of area residents and visitors tour the historic downtown area, taking in the sights, the shopping and the culture.  It makes the location a natural.”

Brunswick Forest is a 4,500-acre, master-planned community.

“Now we’re squarely in the middle of it all with the opportunity to tell the Brunswick Forest story,” Helms said in the release. “It’s like a virtual, multi-media billboard and because of it we expect to significantly increase tours of Brunswick Forest. That translates directly into sales.”

Last year the community’s first Welcome Center, an 18,000 square-foot facility just inside the entrance
to Brunswick Forest, saw an average of 85 visitors a week, according to the release.

Just a little more than two years after openings its doors, Brunswick Forest recently welcomed its 500th family, the release said.

Brunswick Forest’s sales center joins those of Compass Point and The View on downtown’s streets.

Developers are planning to open Cape Fear National golf course this fall in Brunswick Forest.

The press release also said the 40,000 square-foot New Hanover Regional Medical Center office building should be finished by mid-summer. The offices will house physicians and technicians.
