Coastal Linings, a startup that applies non-slip coatings onto truck liners and boat components, has leased 5,000 square feet for its new headquarters at 221 Old Dairy Road, Unit 6, in Wilmington, according to an announcement Wednesday.

Glenn Imboden, an agent with Wilmington-based commercial real estate firm Coldwell Banker Commercial SunCoast, negotiated the lease on behalf of the tenant. Carlton Fisher of Coastal Realty in Wilmington represented the landlord.

The unit is in a flex space complex off Market Street in Dutch Square Industrial Park. The property is comprised of six 5,000-square-foot buildings, each with its own laydown yard, a news release stated.

With Coastal Lining’s lease, 221 Old Dairy Road is 100 percent leased, according to the announcement.

The facility is in "the perfect location for us because we are right in the heart of everything automotive and many dealerships are right down the road,” said Michael Phelps, owner and founder of Coastal Linings, in the release. “Our lining process is similar to powder coating but is more durable and has a lifetime warranty.”

Phelps is a University of North Carolina Wilmington graduate and North Carolina native whose family owns and operates the Phelps Chevrolet dealership in Greenville.
