A locally owned children's resale store and a new restaurant are on the way to a shopping center in the Monkey Junction area.
Finders Keepers is expected to open this summer, possibly by May or June, at Harris Teeter-anchored Beau Rivage Marketplace, owner Joy Joyner said Thursday.
“I wanted to come to the Monkey Junction area because most of the children's resale shops are on the other side of town,” Joyner said. “It's close to a couple of schools and moms go shopping at Harris Teeter.”
Joyner signed a multi-year lease for Unit 12, a 1,200-square-foot space, at the center, 5920 Carolina Beach Road, said Nicholas Silivanch, partner and vice president of retail for Eastern Carolinas Commercial Real Estate.
Silivanch represented Beau Rivage Marketplace while Joyner's daughter, Realtor Paige Murray of Intracoastal Realty, represented Joyner in the transaction.
In another recent transaction, a local restaurant owner has leased Unit 150 at Beau Rivage Marketplace. Silivanch said Kevin Corbett, a chef and one of the owners of the New Orleans-themed Bourbon Street Restaurant in downtown Wilmington, will open a new location in 2,400 square feet.
The downtown Bourbon Street, which describes itself on Facebook as a Cajun and Creole restaurant and bar, began serving customers at 35 N. Front St. in January 2013, according to a previous Greater Wilmington Business Journal story.
