An unnamed Virginia-based financial firm will soon occupy one of the last remaining office spaces in the WRAR Building.
Marcello Caliva, a broker and Realtor with Wilmington-based Intracoastal Realty, confirmed Wednesday that an unnamed financial firm plans to upfit and occupy 4,132 square feet of office space on the second floor of the 25,000-square-foot WRAR Building, located at 1826 Sir Tyler Drive south of Mayfaire.
Caliva, who represented the tenant during the long-term lease transaction, would not release the name of the company.
Cody Cress, vice president of Coldwell Banker Commercial Sun Coast Partners and founder and principal broker of The CRESS Group, represented the landlord – the Wilmington Regional Association of Realtors – during the transaction, which closed Aug. 23.
Caliva said it could take up to four months to complete the upfit and move the firm into the space permanently.
Addition of the new firm marks a new leasing milestone for the WRAR Building, which was constructed in the midst of the economic meltdown in 2010.
Cress said two office units: one at 1,400 square feet and the other at 1,000 square feet, are all that remain in the class A office building that is quickly gaining company.
Officials with Wilmington-based Trask Land Company continue to market property around the WRAR Building for additional commercial development that includes Wilmington’s third Goodwill Store and a proposed 120-room SpringHill Suites. Construction on Castle Branch’s 50,000-square-foot headquarters expansion is also underway.
