Commercial Broker Wins Leasing Deal For Landfall Center

By Jamaal O'Neal, posted Dec 15, 2011

A prominent Wilmington-based commercial brokerage firm will soon be the primary leasing and management team for an established shopping center near the exclusive Landfall housing development.

Chapel Hill-based Landfall Ventures, LLC announced Thursday that it would award Cape Fear Commercial exclusive leasing and management responsibilities for Landfall Center effective January 1, according to a news release.

It’s the first time officials with Landfall Venture, LLC has transferred management and leasing duties to a local commercial firm.

The 130,000-square foot shopping center is located at the intersection of Eastwood and Military Cutoff roads, which averages more than 40,000 cars daily.

Landfall Center was constructed in the late 1980’s, and currently plays host to major national retailers such as Food Lion, Dollar Tree and Haverty’s. The center is home to locally-based retailers such as Lovey’s Natural Foods and Café and Terrazzo Trattoria Restaurant, and has nine out parcels of property fronting Military Cutoff and Eastwood roads.

The Cape Fear Commercial Team tasked with marketing Landfall Center — brokers Brian Eckel, Vin Wells, Mike Brown and property manager Colleen Rozier — plan to unveil a strategy for repositioning the shopping center over the coming months, which includes improving the retail tenant mix at center.

The brokers also plans to meet with tenants of the Landfall Shopping Center to gather ideas and discuss future plans for the shopping plaza, the release said.
