Local Auto Group Adds New Luxury Brands

By Jenny Callison, posted Apr 15, 2022
A local auto dealership is expanding with the addition of two lines of upscale vehicles.

“We are ecstatic to add Lotus and BMW Motorcycles to Jaguar, Land Rover and Audi here in our hometown,” officials at Jaguar Land Rover Cape Fear and Audi Cape Fear stated Thursday in a news release. “Construction on the new building located beside our Jaguar Land Rover store has begun and we expect to open our doors in less than six months.”

The Lotus lineup will include the British carmaker’s first all-electric SUV, Eletre, which was unveiled in late March in London, as well as Lotus’ final all-gasoline vehicle, Emira. The word Eletre means “coming to life” in Hungarian, according to Bloomberg.

“Lotus has proven itself on the road and on the race track since the [1940s]," Shane Heffernan said in the release, calling the release of the two new vehicles a “bold product expansion.” Heffernan is the Audi brand specialist with the Jaguar, Land Rover and Audi auto group owned by AJ Aliah.

Lotus, maker of models featured in the James Bond movies "For Your Eyes Only" and "The Spy Who Loved Me," has already seen considerable demand for its new products.

“There's a two-year waitlist for the Lotus Emira,” Heffernan said in the release. “However, we have a very limited number of vehicles available to us when we open. We expect to receive our first shipment of vehicles when we open in early fall.”

Heffernan said the new Lotus & BMW Motorcycles Cape Fear dealership is taking deposits on those vehicles, with the first orders going live April 20. Customers interested in reserving a car can contact Heffernan before that date. The website is LotusCapeFear.com.
