WECT’s Cape Fear Weekend was honored with a 2020 Silver Telly Award in the Online Commercial: Health and Wellness category, according to a news release.
Cape Fear Weekend Producer Kristin Crawford collaborated with Lower Cape Fear LifeCare for the winning entry, which was titled Marcia’s Bucket List Day.
The production followed hospice patient Marcia Zachary as she was granted one of her last wishes of having an art show. She died April 23, 2019.
“It feels good to know that our video may be able to provide comfort to Marcia’s friends and family in those extra hard times when they are really missing her,” said Crawford in the release.
“While we appreciate the recognition, we’re even more grateful that Cape Fear Weekend was able to share her story with our community," Steven Bevels, WECT's marketing director, said in the release.
