UNCW Announces 3 Business Dean Finalists, Dates For Campus Visits

By Jenny Callison, posted Mar 31, 2015
The field of candidates for dean of University of North Carolina Wilmington's Cameron School of Business has been narrowed to three, the search committee chairman announced this week in a memorandum.

The finalists are Joyendu "Joy" Bhadury, professor in the Department of Information Systems and Operations Management at University of North Carolina at Greensboro’s Bryan School of Business and Economics; Robert Burrus, professor of economics and interim dean of the Cameron School; and Marianne Lewis, professor of management and associate dean of undergraduate programs at the Carl H. Lindner College of Business at the University of Cincinnati, according to the memo issued Monday.

The three have been invited to UNCW's campus for interviews in April, said search committee chairman Charles Hardy, dean of UNCW’s College of Health and Human Services, in his memorandum. Bhadury is scheduled to be on campus April 5-7, Burrus will be interviewed April 12-14, and Lewis will visit UNCW April 19-21. For each, there will be an open forum followed by a reception 4-6 p.m. on the first full day of their campus visits: April 6, 13 and 20, respectively. The sessions are open to the public.

While Hardy did not give a date when the successful candidate might be announced, he did say in an email Tuesday that the university expects that the new dean will start on or around July 1.

More information about the finalists is available on the CSB dean search website.
