The Wrightsville Beach zip code of 28480 is the wealthiest area in southeastern North Carolina, according to tech company Esri, which compiled demographics for the rankings.
 
The California-based company uses information including average household income, average net worth and rate of increase of wealth, among other factors, to determine the wealthiest areas.
 
The Wrightsville Beach zip code, for example, features an average disposable income of $83,214 and average home value of $587,872, according to the report.
 
The company provided an interactive map for the Greater Wilmington Business Journal of the 10 wealthiest zip codes in the region covering New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender counties. Click here to see where those top 10 spots are located.
