Editor's note: The Aug. 17 print edition of the Greater Wilmington Business Journal listed Kim Henry as TACT's new artistic director based on an announcement earlier this summer, but Jason Aycock has since been hired, replacing Henry. The update could not be made for the print edition because the issue already had gone to press.

The Thalian Association has hired Jason Aycock is the new artistic director of TACT, the Thalian Association Children’s Theater.

According to an Aug. 14 press release announcing Aycock’s hiring, he has worked with several area theater companies, including the Opera House Theater Company and City Stage as well as schools such as Harrells Christian Academy, Pender High School and Topsail High School. He also has worked with the Pender Arts Council.

Aycock received a BFA in musical theater from Mars Hill College and has acted, directed and choreographed in more than 55 theater productions.

TACT was established more than 30 years ago as a theater training program for area youth. It puts on five productions annually, with auditions open to performers ages 7 through high school senior. The TACT Academy offers non-audition based classes in different areas of theatrical education.

The 2012-13 season of TACT productions will feature Guys & Dolls, The Hobbit, Romeo & Juliet, a 2013 Musical Revue and Les Misèrables.
