School District Names New Administrators

New Hanover County Schools officials recently announced new assignments for several district and school administrative positions. 

Julie Askew will now serve as the district’s director of special education, according to a press release. She was the director for the Exceptional Children’s Programs and Student Support Programs with Pender County Schools.

Askew has experience in teaching behavior disorders and learning disabilities with the school districts in Craven and New Hanover counties. She holds a bachelor of art’s degree in special education-behavior disorders and a master’s degree in school administration from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

The press release also stated that Eric Pfirman would serve as the principal for Codington Elementary School. He was Hoggard High School’s interim principal. Pfirman received a bachelor of arts degree in history from Lycoming College, and a master’s in school administration from UNCW.

The school district also named Daniella Stamm and Erin Hankard as assistant principals at New Hanover High School.

Stephanie Cole will serve as an assistant principal at Ashley High School, and Frankie Pollock Jr. will serve as an assistant principal at D.C. Virgo Preparatory Academy. 

Sherry Veasey was named principal of Freeman Elementary School of Engineering; Adrian Pearson was named principal of Mosley Performance Learning Center; and Jerry Oates was named principal of Williston Middle School.
