The Coastal Garden Club of Shallotte presents its 2013 Flower Show May 3-4 at Shallotte Presbyterian Church. Since October 5, the Cape Fear Museum has exhibited Fragments of War from its Civil War collection. The exhibit will end Sunday, May 5. Experience how the region experienced this time of conflict. Historic Wilmington Foundation holds its first Old House Fair on Sunday, May 5 as part of National Preservation Month. The fair will be 1-5 p.m. at the Coastline Conference and Event Center, 503 Nutt St., and is intended to offer help and information for those who own an old house or would like to buy one. More than 20 vendors will be on hand to discuss topics such as rehabilitation and restoration, roofing, energy efficiency and painting. There also will be hands-on workshops. Admission is $2.
