Woodmen of the World hired recent University of North Carolina Wilmington graduate and Wilmington native Thomas Jones as a field representative. In the position, Jones offers Pender and New Hanover County residents the Woodmen of the World life insurance products and annuities.
Wilmington hotel exec wins regional award
Kip Damrow, Wilmington director of sales for Interstate Hotels & Resorts, was recently named Hilton Garden Inn Regional Director of Sales of the Year, Southeast for the second year in a row. In Wilmington, Interstate Hotels & Resorts manages the Courtyard Wilmington-Wrightsville Beach and the Hilton Garden Inn Mayfaire Town Center.
Elderhaus names new COO
Elderhaus Inc. officials appointed Larry Reinhart as the company’s chief operating officer. Reinhart oversees operations of Elderhaus’ PACE, adult day care, adult day health and overnight respite programs. Reinhart has served as chief financial officer and PACE program director.
Hospice hires Godwin as development manager
The Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter hired Veronica Godwin as the nonprofit’s development manager. Godwin is responsible for cultivating major gifts supporting the hospice agency in the five-county region it serves. She also will be responsible for meeting agency capital campaign goals by overseeing activities, volunteers and solicitation.
Leland hotel promotes Green to general manager
Crown Hotel and Travel Management promoted Tinisha Green to general manager of the Comfort Suites Magnolia Greens in Leland. Green was front office manager for the past three and half years. She holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Fayetteville State University and a master’s degree from the University of Phoenix.
Sage Island hires Internet marketing specialist
Marketing agency Sage Island hired Sydney Wells as an Internet marketing specialist. Wells received both her bachelor’s in business and professional writing certificate from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She also holds a Google Professional Certification in search marketing. At Sage Island, she is responsible for heading PPC client campaigns, conducting regular client website audits and identifying new opportunities for marketing and growth.
Markraft promotes Kurki
Markraft Cabinets Inc. promoted Mary Kurki to the company’s director of administration and marketing position. Kurki oversees all phases of the company’s sales and marketing strategies, assisting with product development, being a sales team resource for product knowledge and updates, training new employees and representing Markraft and the executive team in the community. Kurki graduated from Florida State University with a degree in fashion merchandising and has worked in sales, training and development and human resources.
