N.C. magazine recognizes Wilmington lawyer
Hedrick Gardner Kincheloe & Garofalo LLP announced that Erica Lewis, managing partner of Hedrick Gardner’s Wilmington office, was among those named as 2012 Leaders in the Law by North Carolina Lawyers Weekly. The Leaders in the Law list includes 25 recipients from law firms across North Carolina, and the process for selection was based on nomination and achievements within the legal industry and individual communities. Lewis’ focus is on appellate advocacy, employment law and workers’ compensation.

Financial planner receives exit planning certification
Randy M. Long, member of theBEI Network of Exit Planning Professionals, recently earned the designation of a BEI Certified Exit Planner (CExP). The BEI CExP designation is the standard for Exit Planning certification. According to a press release, through training, rigorous testing and in-depth Exit Plan Creation coursework, Long demonstrated that he’s qualified to provide comprehensive, professionally executed Exit Planning services to the business owning community. Long is president of Long Investment Advisory Inc.

New director heads up Hampstead chamber
Brooke Henderson was hired this summer as the Hampstead Chamber of Commerce’s executive director. “My biggest goal for the chamber is to become a new way for small businesses to communicate with each other and market themselves,” Henderson said. Henderson has spent the past 16 years working as a corporate communicator, marketer, membership service specialist and search engine optimizing professional.

Boggio named managing director of new IronGate division
IronGate Partners hired Michael Boggio as managing director and senior portfolio strategist for its newly-formed IronGate Investment Management. IronGate Investment Management offers a suite of managed volatility investment portfolios, according to a press release. Boggio was previously chief investment officer at Old North State Wealth Management. He has also worked as senior wealth manager at Smith Barney as a portfolio strategist with an investment partnership based in New Jersey, and as an equity research analyst at Institutional Capital Corp in Chicago.

Health providers hired to treat pediatric digestive orders
The Coastal Children’s Services hired Robert “Chip” Williams and Nannette Blois-Martin to bring children and teens in the community more specialists to turn to in the fight against digestive disorders. Williams is a pediatric gastroenterologist who sees at New Hanover Regional Medical Center’s Betty H. Cameron Women’s & Children’s Hospital. Blois-Martin is a pediatric nurse practitioner specializing in the care of children with gastrointestinal conditions.

Sea Coast hires Topsail managing broker
Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Realty announced that Justin Ash was named managing broker of its Topsail Island office in Surf City and sales manager of its Sneads Ferry and Hampstead offices. Ash has been a real estate agent sales associate with Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage since 2005. Prior to assuming his role of managing broker, Ash was instrumental in the start-up of several new home communities including Courtney Pines, Mill Creek and The Willows. Most recently, Ash was in charge of the sales and marketing of the Bellingham Park and Topsail Landing condominium communities, the release stated.

Insurer hires commercial account manager
Senn Dunn Insurance, a full-service independent insurance agency, hired Patricia Pool as a commercial account manager in its Wilmington office location. Pool has more than 22 years of experience in the insurance industry.
