Dr. Kira Alatar of Wilmington Health Family Medicine has been acknowledged as one of America’s Most Compassionate Doctors by MDx Medical, Inc., whose Vitals.com website allows patients to leave doctor reviews. Dr. Alatar was in the top 3 percent of physicians who received consistent exemplary scores for the care that she provides.

Your Computer Friends, a Wilmington-based computer repair service company, has recently added John Robert Allen to its service staff. Allen has a wide range of experience in smart phone applications and customer service. Founded in 2006, Your Computer Friends offers a complete range of repair, maintenance and upgrade services.

Caitlin Hoffman is the new director of meetings and events for the Wilmington Regional Association of Realtors (WRAR). In her position, she will serve as the liaison for several WRAR committees and councils and will coordinate member programs, networking events and membership meetings.

Gabor Komaromy-Hiller, executive director of PPD global central laboratories, has been recognized by R&D Directions magazine. The publication named Komaromy-Hiller to its 2012 list of notable people in research and development for his expertise in clinical research.


Wilmington resident Frederick W. Julius, III has been appointed vice president of operations for The Wilderman group, a hospitality management company based in Charleston, S.C. The Wilderman Group’s properties include the Gastonia Conference Center and the technologically advanced LeGrand Center in Cleveland County. 

Ron Meyer, Wilmington Health director of information technology, has been elected to serve as chairmen of a recently established organization called the Cape Fear Technology Leadership Exchange. Meyer will serve for one year, helping to facilitate the exchange of information and fellowship between Cape Fear’s leaders in technology.

Wilmington resident Mark Westendorff has been appointed Environmental Division senior projects manager for SEPI Engineering & Construction, a company that provides civil engineering and planning services to private and public sector clients throughout the Southeast.
