R.W. “Chip” Leavitt, Jr., CEO of Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation, recently was elected as president of the board of directors for North Carolina Electric Membership Corporation (NCEMC). At BEMC, Leavitt has served for 28 years and currently is CEO/general manager. In addition, he has served on the boards of several statewide industry organizations including N.C. Association of Electric Cooperatives, Diversified Energy, LLC. and EMC Technologies. He has also been very involved in his local community, serving as Vice-Chair of the Brunswick Community College Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Brunswick Community Hospital Board of Trustees.
