R.W. “Chip” Leavitt, Jr., CEO of Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation, recently was elected as president of the board of directors for North Carolina Electric Membership Corporation (NCEMC). At BEMC, Leavitt has served for 28 years and currently is CEO/general manager. In addition, he has served on the boards of several statewide industry organizations including N.C. Association of Electric Cooperatives, Diversified Energy, LLC. and EMC Technologies. He has also been very involved in his local community, serving as Vice-Chair of the Brunswick Community College Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Brunswick Community Hospital Board of Trustees.

David Eggleston, Jr., broker and real estate agent at the Intracoastal Realty Lumina II office recently achieved the Accredited Buyer Representative designation. The Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) designation is the benchmark of excellence in buyer representation. This designation is awarded by the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council (REBAC), an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors, to real estate agents who meet the specified educational and practical experience criteria.

Jason R. Harris was a presenter at the annual meeting of the Maritime Law Association of the United States in New York on May 1.
