Wilmington Health recently added two health providers -- Justin Loucks and Jay Lyons -- to its roster.
Loucks joined the orthopaedic surgery team as a physician assistant. He provides care to orthopaedic patients with musculoskeletal conditions, officials said. Loucks received his bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his master's degree in physician assistant studies from East Carolina University.
Several of his clinical rotations were with Wilmington Health, including orthopaedics, according to a news release.
“I look forward to being a part of the Wilmington Health Orthopaedic Surgery team,” Loucks said. “I performed a clinical rotation with James Bennett that was both informative and educational.”
Lyons joined Wilmington Health's family medicine department at the practice's Federal Point location in Carolina Beach.
A physician assistant, he provides health care to patients of varying ages.
He earned both his bachelor's degree in health sciences and master's degree in physician assistant studies from Alderson Broaddus College.
“I’ve been a physician assistant since 2010, most recently working with cardiovascular patients,” Lyons said. “I look forward to utilizing my cardiovascular experience with my primary care patients at Wilmington Health at Federal Point to provide the best care possible.”
In addition, the Wilmington Health Labs at 5245 S. College Road recently received laboratory accreditation by the Commission on Office Laboratory Accreditation. To receive accreditation labs must comply with strict standard requirements in day-to-day operations, demonstrate continued accuracy in performance and pass an on-site survey, officials said.
