Physician assistant Michelle Lilly, a Wilmington Health occupational health services and urgent care provider, is now a certified medical examiner for the N.C. Department of Transportation exams, Wilmington Health announced in a news release.

Since May of this year, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration requires everyone with a commercial driver’s license to receive a DOT exam from a certified medical examiner, the release stated. The exams, which are covered by commercial insurance, are required every one to two years, depending on a person’s medical history.

Lilly is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, the release stated. Her office is at 5245 S. College Road in Wilmington.
