That’s Who We Are

Sponsored Content provided by Sherri Pridgen - 2019 President, Cape Fear REALTORS®

When it comes to buying or selling property, consumers know they want the best. The best price, the best property, the best location, the best process. However, what many don't know is that they also have the right to the best real estate professional.

REALTOR® Members with Cape Fear REALTORS® (CFR) offer far more value to a property buyer or seller than agents or apps.

We are bound by a Code of Ethics. When it comes to helping consumers with the buying or selling process, the REALTOR® Code of Ethics isn't just words on a page but a pledge of honesty, integrity, professionalism, and community service. Our REALTOR® members commit to abide by the Code of Ethics, which requires ongoing training and renewal. This enThats' Who We "R"courages us to be community advocates and inspires us to stand up for issues like workforce housing and building a relief fund for families affected by natural disasters such as Hurricane Florence. Our code of ethics is the pulse of every business decision large or small, and it's this foundation that fuels our collaboration with lawmakers to protect property owner rights because we believe owning a home is part of the American dream.

We are epic storytellers. Whether it's the story of a young family finding their first home, the accomplishment of launching a small business, the revitalization of an aging neighborhood, or the coming together to strengthen our community’s future. Our story doesn’t just stop at the doorway. It goes beyond the yards, out to the streets and even into courthouses to protect the property rights of all homeowners. Our Code of Ethics inspires our story to make an extraordinary impact. But this isn’t ours alone to tell. Over 2,800 Cape Fear REALTORS® have thousands of their own stories to share.

We are the most educated Real Estate Professionals with the most current real estate knowledge throughout the tri-county area. Keeping in step with market trends and addressing real estate issues head-on is one of the main functions of CFR. The reason we take such an organized, professional approach is due, in part, to the fact that ours is an organization of REALTORS®. There's a significant difference between a real estate agent and a REALTOR®. Anyone can put in the effort to earn a real estate license, but only when a real estate agent joins the National Association of REALTORS® will they gain that final step of leadership, knowledge and professionalism that defines our REALTOR® members, and most importantly, benefits consumers with a plethora of essential information, expertise and resources.

As you can imagine, there are many moving parts in the real estate world, and REALTORS® need to be on the cutting edge of those changes. At CFR, we aim to ensure our REALTOR® members remain on point with technology, training, information, and resources, all of which help make them the best real estate professionals.

Our extensive training helps REALTORS® understand the buyer's needs and wants. If we're going to find you a house or business, we need to start with what kind of neighborhood or industry you're looking for, and what's important to you. For sellers, we know the market, the data, and the trends that help set a fair price far more accurate than the online generated valuation tools. A smooth process is created when REALTOR(s)® represent all parties in the real estate transaction.

As the Cape Fear region's Voice for Real Estate, CFR protects the private property rights for local real estate consumers while enhancing the individual and corporate careers of its members. CFR represents over 2,800 members live and work in New Hanover, Brunswick, Pender, Scotland, Duplin, and Sampson counties.

Perhaps the most meaningful narrative to end our story with you can be summed up by this section of the National Association of REALTORS® 2019 Code of Ethics & Standards of Practice: "When representing a buyer, seller, landlord, tenant, or other clients as an agent, REALTORS® pledge themselves to protect and promote the interests of their client. This obligation to the client is primary, but it does not relieve REALTORS® of their obligation to treat all parties honestly."

Sherri Pridgen, ABR, GRI is the 2019 President of Cape Fear REALTORS® (CFR) supporting the organization's mission to be the innovative resource and advocate for real estate. A not-for-profit 501(c)(6) corporation created in 1924, CFR has grown tremendously in the past 90+ years and presently serves more than 2,800+ REALTORS® in Southeastern North Carolina.
