MANDY CURTIN

Client Success Manager,
Next Glass

As part of a local tech startup, Mandy Curtin depends on technology constantly for the wine and beer recommendation app. “We use so many tools, apps and devices that keep us ahead of the curve. The real fun is developing technology that simplifies daily life for others.”

Regularly reads local publications. “I’m happy that Devour is new in the foodie scene, and Encore is my source for local music and restaurant updates.”

When online, uses Feedly to pull in feeds from Fast Company, TechCrunch, Mashable “and all things foodie – and wine – related.”

Favorite podcasts: “NPR and coffee; it’s what’s for breakfast. Otherwise, I’m soaking in some TEDTalks, Freakonomics or Marketplace (APM).”

Book recommendations include Start with Why by Simon Sinek, Delivering Happiness by Tony Hsieh and The Confidence Code by Claire Shipman and Katty Kay.

Go-to apps are Slack at Next Glass HQ to “wrangle our team.” “My fiancé and I stay organized using Wunderlist, Evernote and The Knot (326 days!). We check MyRadar Pro [weather app] before we paddle, and Waze [traffic and navigation app] before a road trip. Next Glass is naturally my go-to for exploring new wines and beers.”

Device picks are her MacBook Pro and her iDevices. “A Mophie Juice Pack for my iPhone is critical; boat and beach jams powered by a JBL bluetooth speaker.”
